Hermione said she could smell 'freshly mown grass and new parchment and –' Well, we might be able to guess that last part.
When describing the smell of Amortentia, Hermione blushes and won't reveal the third scent. J.K. Rowling has since confirmed that this smell is Ron's hair.
Ron Weasley smelled his mother's cooking, bacon, and the perfume he gave Hermione in their fifth year at Hogwarts for Christmas. Amortentia doesn't create actual love, of course. That's impossible. But it does cause a powerful infatuation or obsession.
Hermione Granger: Grass, Parchment, and Spearmint
The Amortentia scene from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince spells out Hermione's ideal fragrance quite plainly.
We first encounter amortentia in Slughorn's classroom during his first potions lesson, and for Harry it smells like treacle tart, the woody scent of a broomstick handle, and something flowery that he thought he might have smelled at the Burrow. Now of course, we know that the 'something flowery' was Ginny.
Pansy Parkinson. She was obsessed with him.
Neville Longbottom: Flowers, his mother's perfume, plants. Luna Lovegood: Strawberries, lavender.
While we all know Mahogany Apple is Draco's official scent, you can browse their manly scents and choose one that suits your taste.
In the film, Hermione snapped, 'He's been poisoned, you daft dimbo! ' at Lavender when she accused Hermione of only wanting to make up to him 'now he's all interesting'. While in the books Hermione might not have gone quite that far, maybe she was secretly saying it in her head.
Her greatest fear was probably failure
' Ron was joking (as he often does) but he was actually very close to the truth. Part of the reason Hermione worked so hard was that she was terrified of getting things wrong and letting people down – a common trait among high achievers.
I will however reveal one of the scents I detect in Amortentia… Honeysuckle.
James Potter:
Cedar wood, leather from quidditch gloves, clean cotton, and pine. True to his rambunctious and cheerful character, James' scent would carry a woodsy, refreshing tone.
Draco: Bakeries, gasoline, strawberries, melted chocolate. Cedric: Books, butterscotch, Vanilla extract.
The highest breaking point however was when Ron accused her of not believing in his abilities as a Gryffindor Keeper and retaliated with his romantic fling with Lavender, causing Hermione to be jealous.
The effect that a Love Potion has will wear off over time. In order to maintain the potion's effect, the giver must continually administer doses, or else the recipient may 'fall out of love" with them.
Even so, that was no excuse for Ron to retaliate with something even worse: to meanly say, 'It's no wonder no one can stand her,' loud enough for Hermione to overhear, causing her to flee in tears.
BECAUSE HERMIONE WAS IN LOVE WITH RON, NOT HARRY. Hermione's feelings for Harry are sibling-like, not romantic. Also, she actually saw Ron and Lavender, while she only heard about Harry and Cho second-hand from Harry.
Probably because J.K.Rowling intended it to be that way. It implies that Ron only dated Lavender because she was a pretty girl who admired him, and because he was interested in getting the physical aspects of a romantic relationship.
Lavender is a nice girl who likes him. That probably gives him some confidence so he goes for it. At the beginning it is nice but he loses interest as they don't have the deep connection he has with Hermione and he likes the way Hermione challenges him at times.
J.K. Rowling revealed that Professor Snape smells like "bitterness and old shoes" on Twitter.
Their signature Stone scent is a citrusy fragrance infused with fresh notes of Japanese yuzu, dry notes of charcoal, and zesty notes of bergamot, an orangey citrus fruit.
The Ravenclaw™ Limited Edition Parfum evokes clean, refreshing notes of bergamot, lily of the valley, and Virginian cedarwood.
Remus Lupin and Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford
Ignoring the fact that Lupin probably would not chose to spend his galleons on Tom Ford, Tobacco Vanille is such a Lupin fragrance. Tobacco Vanille is reminiscent of curling up next to the fire on a cold night with notes of vanilla, tobacco leaf, ginger, and cocoa.
The Gryffindor™ Limited Edition Parfum evokes smooth and sensual floral notes of black currant bud, black dahlia, and Madagascar vanilla. *All of our fragrances may naturally change in color as our oil are from natural ingredients sustainably sourced from around the world.
Slytherin: Sea brine, iron, damp stone, roses, pine trees, mildew, mint, plum, bananas foster, the salty smell of play-doh, gasoline. Gryffindor: Burning fireplaces, cinnamon, cigarette smoke, vanilla, B.O., pumpkin spice, beer, sawdust, patchouli, leather, old crayon boxes.
