Adolescence (Ages 12-20): Passion – The biological event of puberty unleashes a powerful set of changes in the adolescent body that reflect themselves in a teenager's sexual, emotional, cultural, and/or spiritual passion.

Middle adolescence (ages 14-17): There's no clear line between early, middle, and late adolescence because everybody develops on a different timeline. But some developmental patterns hold true generally.
Middle Childhood (Ages 6-12) A child's developmental path in their middle childhood years (between 6 and 12 years of age) contributes substantially to the adolescent, and adult they will become. Middle childhood is a stage where children move into expanding roles and environments.

Their balance and coordination are increasing, allowing them to do more physical activities. Their bodies are starting to mature. Kids ages 9–12 are getting ready to enter puberty. Some children enter puberty early in this stage of their lives.
10 - 12 years social and emotional development. At this age, your child will be entering a phase of great emotional change. From this 'developmental hill' she can see adulthood and appreciate that this is the direction in which she is clearly headed - whether she likes it or not!
From the developmental perspective, middle adulthood (or midlife) refers to the period of the lifespan between young adulthood and old age. This period lasts from 20 to 40 years depending on how these stages, ages, and tasks are culturally defined.

Remember: Puberty can be a time of massive mood swings. It's normal for them to feel sad, but only for a short while. Depression lasts longer and plays out in multiple ways, including eating disorders and drug use. Keep your finger on the pulse of what's happening at school.
