Add Protein
Protein plays an important role in everyone's diet, but that's especially true when you have COPD. Try to eat a healthy serving at least twice a day to strengthen your breathing muscles and prevent infections. Good sources include eggs, lean meat, fish, poultry, legumes, and nuts.
Shortness of breath after eating can be the first symptom. It can occur within minutes after you eat something you're allergic to. Shellfish, milk, eggs, peanuts, and tree nuts are among the most common foods to cause allergies. If your symptoms are severe, it's critical that you seek medical attention immediately.
It is normal for things such as strenuous exercise, extreme temperature change, bad air quality, high altitude and obesity to make breathing difficult even for a healthy person.

Some medications are long-term and work to prevent shortness of breath. Others are emergency medications, which you inhale when you experience sudden shortness of breath.
People can experience shortness of breath while walking for a number of reasons. Sometimes, this occurs as a result of conditions such as anxiety, asthma, or obesity. Less commonly, shortness of breath signals a more serious underlying medical condition.

Pomegranates. These seedy fruits aren't easy to open, but the effort will pay off: Pomegranates offer a healthy dose of antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation in the lungs.
