The heart chakra is the fourth chakra, and appropriately represents love.
The anahata chakra is associated with unconditional love, compassion, and joy. It is the source of deep and profound truths that cannot be expressed in words. Anahata is a bridge between the lower and upper chakras integrating the manifest with the spiritual, says yoga teacher Stephanie Snyder.
The Heart Chakra: Your Center for Unconditional Love and Healing Transformation. When we experience true, unconditional love; it is the purest form of spiritual energy. This is one of the reasons so many are drawn to babies and pets.
The love chakra is located in the center of the chest and corresponds to the heart, lungs, thymus gland, and cardiac plexus. In the seven chakras system, it's the fourth chakra, positioned in between the three lower body chakras and three upper body chakras.
To open the heart chakra, try repeating affirmations related to love and healing such as “I am open to love”, “I forgive myself and others”, “I love myself and all human beings”, or “I have an open heart”. Over time, repeating these affirmations will invite more love and compassion into your life.
The 4th Chakra, or heart chakra, is considered the center of the emotions love and grief.
In order to send energy, or to open the sacral chakra, the biggest healing practice is movement. Movement allows emotions to release from the body through physical exertion, which releases any mental or emotional emotions. Another practice for the sacral chakra is boundary work.
The initial happy feelings of being in love is stimulated by 3 chemicals in the brain: noradrenaline that stimulates adrenaline production causing that racing heart and sweaty palms; dopamine, the feel-good chemical; and phenylethylamine that is released when we're near our crush, giving us butterflies in our tummies.
The highest form of energy on this planet is love. All energy vibrates at different levels, but love vibrates at the highest frequency. In our daily lives, we often forget to pay attention to our surroundings, but if we stop what we are doing for just a moment, we can feel the energy of love all around us.
Love energy brings magic into present moments. In those moments, people feel lighter, playful, hopeful, happy and uplifted. It comes from clear intention, vision and inner connection.
Emotional information is stored through “packages” in our organs, tissues, skin, and muscles. These “packages” allow the emotional information to stay in our body parts until we can “release” it. Negative emotions in particular have a long-lasting effect on the body.

Which Chakra Relaxes the Mind? The sixth chakra, also known as the third-eye chakra, is associated with insight and intuition. It is located in the center of the forehead. Behind this spot, deep in the brain, is the pineal gland, which produces melatonin to help you fall asleep at night.
Guilt, Fishkin says, is associated with activity in the prefrontal cortex, the logical-thinking part of the brain. Guilt can also trigger activity in the limbic system. (That's why it can feel so anxiety-provoking.)
It's no surprise that, for centuries, people thought love (and most other emotions, for that matter) arose from the heart. As it turns out, love is all about the brain – which, in turn, makes the rest of your body go haywire.
