At some point during this incredibly dangerous fight, the python was bitten by the ultra-venomous king cobra. Yet, the reticulated python - the world's longest and heaviest snake - remained constricted around the king cobra and killed the cobra while too being dead.
A crocodile would beat an anaconda in a fight. A fully grown crocodile is simply too big and strong for an anaconda to kill. Even in an ambush situation, the anaconda would struggle to wrap enough of its body around the crocodile to inhibit its movement and crush it.
Threats. At the top of the food chain, adult anacondas have no natural predators. The biggest threat to their survival is human fear; many anacondas are killed by people worried that the enormous snake will attack.
The snake's biggest enemy is the mongoose, which is quick enough to dart in and bite the back of the cobra's neck before the snake can defend itself.
The inland taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) is considered the most venomous snake in the world with a murine LD 50 value of 0.025 mg/kg SC. Ernst and Zug et al. 1996 list a value of 0.01 mg/kg SC, which makes it the most venomous snake in the world in their study too.
One might think a giant snake such as a reticulated python or anaconda would be likely to defeat an elephant, but that's not true. Neither of them has the strength to kill elephants. This is where the king cobra comes in.
The green beast might be able to take down slender jaguars, but large lions are another story. This animal battle is a win for team kitty! In an anaconda vs. lion battle, the lion is the champion.
Mongoose
Mongooses are noted for their audacious attacks on highly venomous snakes, such as king cobras. The Mongoose is a snake killer by nature. These small mammals have some immunity to cobra venom, so they are one of the most successful animals that hunt cobras.
An adult anaconda would win a fight against a Komodo dragon. The Komodo dragon is a highly capable fighter, but it would not be able to deal fatal damage to the anaconda before it was grabbed and crushed. Anacondas can successfully attack crocodiles, creatures that can kill faster than a Komodo dragon.
Driving its fangs in, the cobra delivers a fatal bite. It only takes a bit of the unique neurotoxin to paralyze and kill the python. Our champion won't have any trouble eating the loser of this animal battle. In the wild, king cobras love eating snakes, including pythons.
Predators. Leopards and crocodiles are large carnivores which may prey upon gorillas. Humans are the greatest threat to all gorilla populations.
Their land movement speed tends to max out at 10 MPH, meaning grizzlies move nearly three times as fast. That might not relate perfectly to their actual combat speed, but it's still clear that the bear is bigger, faster, stronger, and way more equipped to do immediately lethal damage to the anaconda's body.
Most people would have the same reaction to finding a snake inside their home. While some may be excited to find the reptile, the majority of people would react in fear and confusion. Apparently gorillas have the same feelings about snakes.
2. King Cobras Fear the Mongoose. Mongooses are noted for their audacious attacks on highly venomous snakes, such as king cobras. The mongoose preys on the king cobra, and they do so very successfully.
The hedgehog (Erinaceidae), the mongoose (Herpestidae), the honey badger (Mellivora capensis) and the opossum are known to be immune to a dose of snake venom.
Key Points. In the video, an anaconda and a jaguar go head to head in a battle, with the feline finally overpowering the daunting snake. Usually, jaguars kill their prey by pouncing and using their strong teeth to pierce their skulls.
Pantanal jaguars have been previously documented preying on anacondas, though bigger mammals like capybara, cattle, feral pigs, peccaries or giant anteaters (and caimans, of course) are more typical fare.
