Fortunately, there are no negative consequences of learning or using the Crucio spell.
If you choose not to learn it, you'll have to wait until much later in the game for one more chance to learn the spell from him, so make sure you choose wisely! After you learn how to cast Crucio in Hogwarts Legacy, don't forget to have a look at the Dark Arts skill tree.
If you refused to learn any of the three Unforgivable Curses and change your mind later, there is a chance to unlock them after completing the main quest line. You can speak to Sebastian in the Undercroft (if he's around) and ask him to teach you. Looking to learn even more Spells in Hogwarts Legacy?
The curse spells are tied to Sebastians quest line, if you turn it down and still get the next ones then you can, otherwise nope. Though you should learn it still, you dont need to use it.
There is no true difference between taking Crucio or casting it on Sebastian. There will be only a slight dialog difference and players will need to heal up with potions.
Harry retaining the memory of Draco casting Cruciatus on him would jeopardize Draco's life (it risks his mission), Snape's life (failing to protect Draco) and destroy any trust Harry has for Dumbledore when he inevitably is forced to cover for Draco and Snape.
The primary reason the Cruciatus Curse didn't work on Harry was that Voldemort wasn't the true owner of the Elder Wand. The Elder Wand, like other wands being semi-sentient, knew who it's true master was. It was aware of the fact that Harry had won over Draco and it belonged to him.
You can confirm your choice with “Yes please” to learn Avada Kedavra. In case you select options that don't let you learn the curse, you will be given another option in the next quest, In the Shadow of Fate.
The only way to truly learn Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy requires you to pick it up from Sebastian Swallow, as well as follow a specific path to get here.
In order to start these quests, you need to also learn Bombarda, so make sure to progress the Beasts Class questline. After learning Bombarda and completing both quests, you'll finally unlock In The Shadow Of The Relic, where you'll have the option to learn Avada Kedavra.
In case you missed learning the Cruciatus Curse during the quest, you can visit Sebastian in Undercroft later on in order to learn any Unforgivable Curse from him, including Crucio. Players can add the Cruciatus Curse in their Build in the late game as it is an extremely powerful spell and helps defeat enemies faster.
The darkest of the Dark Arts, Harry Potter unforgivable curses are the Cruciatus Curse, the Imperius Curse, and the Killing Curse. Although the curses are highly illegal, Harry using Unforgivable Curses happened, but he uses them once he was thrust into the Second Wizarding War.
Simply put, you won't get the spell during the quest if you refuse the offer.
During the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, Bellatrix realized that Neville was the child of the Longbottoms, whom she had tortured. She took fiendish pleasure in using the Cruciatus Curse on the Longbottoms' son.
During the Battle of Hogwarts, Voldemort used the Cruciatus Curse on what he believed to be Harry Potter's dead body as a way of dishonouring it and to show that he had won.
In order to coax information from Harry, Umbridge demonstrates a willingness to use the Cruciatus Curse to 'loosen his tongue'. Potter is saved from torture thanks to some quick thinking from Hermione Granger, who takes them to the Forbidden Forest under the pretense of finding a secret weapon.
Its incantation is Avada Kedavra. The only known counter-spell is sacrificial protection, which uses the magic of love.
In order to unlock Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy, you must first complete a series of quests in Sebastian's quest line.
Though Harry encountered many opportunities that deemed Avada Kedavra necessary, it remains as one of the Unforgivable Curses Harry Potter never cast. For one, he viewed the spell as an immoral practice commonly used by users of the Dark Arts.
“Okay, Google. Nox,” will turn it off. The same commands with “Silencio” will turn off your ringer. (Weirdly “Okay, Google, Avada Kedavra” doesn't do anything.)
Voldemort would dodge it. That's the simple answer. There's no way they could hit him with it. Harry did try to use the killing curse in movie 5 against Bellatrix who stated something to the effect he couldn't do it because he really had to mean it, implying it had to be in his soul to want to kill people.
Why does Voldemort keep using Avada Kedavra against Harry even though it can't hurt him? Because Voldemort is an experimental scientist. He has a problem (Harry, or rather Harry being alive) that he is trying to find a solution to. He keeps manipulating variables, and trying again to see if he gets the desired results.
In Deathly Hallows, Hermione faced a real test of her physical and psychological stamina. After being on the run from a bunch of Snatchers, the gang were taken to Malfoy Manor, where Bellatrix proceeded to torture Hermione using the Cruciatus Curse.
I've always suspected Molly's lethal spell was a particularly well-placed and powerful stunner that stops Bellatrix's heart, which is consistent with the description of her death: Molly's curse soared beneath Bellatrix's outstretched arm and hit her squarely in the chest, directly over her heart.
The Killing Curse ('Avada Kedavra')
Obviously there's no coming back from this spell, and according to the Ministry of Magic's classifications (and, again, fake-Moody) this is the worst Unforgivable Curse.
