Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)
Body dysmorphic disorder is characterized by an obsession with a perceived flaw or defect on one's body. BDD can be about any part of your body, and contrary to what some may have assumed, perceived fat or flab is only one of many types of BDD fixation.
Muscle dysmorphia (or muscle dysmorphic disorder) is a type of BDD where you experience obsessive worries about your body being too small, skinny or not muscular enough. Despite these worries, you're of average build. Or in some cases exceptionally muscular.
According to Dr. Bell, “The data show body size judgments are biased towards prior experience.” Quite simply, it means that we may misinterpret our current body size by drawing on memories of a time when we were thinner or larger.
There are two subtypes of BDD: Muscle Dysmorphia and BDD by Proxy.
When you have body dysmorphic disorder, you intensely focus on your appearance and body image, repeatedly checking the mirror, grooming or seeking reassurance, sometimes for many hours each day.
Contents. Gender dysphoria is a term that describes a sense of unease that a person may have because of a mismatch between their biological sex and their gender identity. This sense of unease or dissatisfaction may be so intense it can lead to depression and anxiety and have a harmful impact on daily life.
This may occur because of hormonal imbalances, obesity, kidney problems, lack of physical activity, etc. (10) When you lose weight but look fatter, there is a possibility that it is the result of swelling caused by water retention. How to fix it? Water retention is often the result of an increased sodium intake.
What is Phantom Fat Disorder? Similar to someone losing a limb and having phantom limb sensations, when someone loses a significant amount of weight, they can still have sensations of that weight on their body. And this phenomenon is often referred to as phantom fat disorder.
Body dysmorphic disorder is the most frequent cause, but it can also be due to family and societal pressures about weight and body image. I have known thin women with, for example, mothers who harped on their weight so much that they believed themselves to be fat even when they were not.
Reverse BDD: In many ways, reverse body dysmorphia is the opposite of BDD. Individuals with this condition may believe they are thin while living in a larger body. Therefore, they may routinely buy clothing several sizes too small without trying it on.

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD)
There is no one, single cause of body dysmorphic disorder. It likely develops due to a number of genetic and environmental factors, such as a family history of obsessive compulsive disorder or neglect during your childhood.
under 18.5kg/m2 – you are considered underweight and possibly malnourished. 18.5 to 24.9kg/m2 – you are within a healthy weight range for young and middle-aged adults. 25.0 to 29.9kg/m2 – you are considered overweight. over 30kg/m2 – you are considered obese.
Common reasons for someone to have belly fat even when they're skinny is: Being too sedentary (inactive), which builds visceral fat around the organs and abdominal fat. Eating too many processed foods, which stores at the belly.
Women with a BMI of less than 18.5 are considered underweight. The average woman's height is 5 feet, 4 inches. If you weigh 107 pounds or less at this height, you are considered underweight with a BMI of 18.4. A healthy weight range for that woman would be 108 to 145 pounds.
Why a woman sees her reflection as a shorter, wider version of reality. Women's brains 'massively distort' their own body image, creating a shorter figure which can be two-thirds wider than in real life, scientists have suggested.
The top and bottom edges are usually straight. Your home mirror can do this due to its own weight. If the center bulges out a little bit, your height will appear slightly smaller but your width will not be changed. This can make a person look a little fat.”

The dysphoria model of PTSD (using DSM-IV criteria) has four factors consisting of reexperiencing, avoidance, dysphoria (PTSD-DYS), and hyperarousal symptoms [15]. In this model, the larger PTSD-DYS factor has eight symptoms from the DSM-IV numbing and arousal factors that load onto it [15] (see Table 1).
