Love, being the adoptive daughter of Thor, is appropriately played by Chris Hemsworth's daughter, India Rose Hemsworth.
Gorr's Daughter Love is Chris Hemsworth's Real-Life Daughter
Jane Foster promises Gorr with her own dying breath that Thor will take care of the child, and Thor, now heartbroken and alone, chooses to adopt the child. But in real life, the actor that plays Love is actually Chris Hemsworth's real daughter.
In the film, India Rose Hemsworth plays Love, the daughter of the movie's main villain Gorr the God Butcher. By the end of the film, Love is resurrected thanks to the cosmic being Eternity and is raised by Thor.
Despite only being present for a few minutes, Gorr's daughter was, in many ways, the heart of the story. Played by Hemsworth's real-life daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, Gorr's child died in Love and Thunder's opening moments, cradled by her father (a genuinely moving scene carried by Bale's impressive performance).
Thor: Love and Thunder ends on an unexpected note that features a sweet bit of casting you might have missed. The new movie (now available to watch on Disney+) sees Thor, Valkyrie, Korg and the newly minted Mighty Thor, aka Jane Foster, go on a mission to defeat Gorr the God Butcher.
Superhuman Strength: Upon being revived from Eternity, Love has been bestowed with immense physical strength, as shown when she was able to effortlessly wield Stormbreaker, a weapon that can only be held by powerful beings such as Thor, Mighty Thor, Captain America, Thanos, and Gorr the God Butcher.
Thor begs Jane to put down the hammer so that they can have more time together. But when Thor is nearly killed by the villainous Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), Jane transforms into Thor to save her true love.
Unlike the comics, where Gorr has a son, the new Thor movie spun it a different way and gave him a daughter. Not only is this the daughter of Gorr, but she is also the daughter of Eternity, after the superpowerful entity brought her back from the dead, imbued with powers of her own.
Þrúðr (Old Norse: [ˈθruːðz̠], "strength"), sometimes anglicized as Thrúd or Thrud, is a daughter of the major god Thor and the goddess Sif in Norse mythology.
Agar was the son of Gorr the God Butcher who died of starvation and heat stroke some time after his mother's death while two gods fought.
History. Torunn is the daughter of Thor and Jane Foster. She's a member of the Next Avengers. When she was a a child she's been looked after by her mother after Thor leaves on an important mission.
POWERS. Eternity possesses immortality, cosmic awareness, and nigh omniscience, the ability to know almost everything. Additionally, it can warp reality, meaning unlimited manipulation of time, matter, magic, etc. Lastly, Eternity can manifest as anything that exists in its respective dimension.
Amalia and Aleph Millepied as Asgardian Kids
Love and Thunder was truly a family affair. Natalie Portman's children were also among those featured in the group of kidnapped kids.
In the comics, Gorr does not have a daughter. Instead, he has a young son named Agar, who dies of heat stroke.
Angela is Thor's sister and Odin firstborn daughter. She has unique powers compared to other Asgardians, due to her complex editorial history. While Thor's sister Angela possesses all the "standard" powers of an Asgardian, she also has another bizarre set of abilities that come from her complex editorial history.
When she was older, Frigga met Odin, the king of Asgard. The two fell in love and married, whereupon Frigga became the Queen of Asgard. She later gave birth to her and Odin's son, Thor, who would eventually become the God of Thunder.
Thor was married twice: first to Iarnsaxa and second to Sif. He had 3 sons and 1 daughter from these 2 marriages.
Thor's daughter, Þrúðr, was promised in marriage to Alvíss.
During Thor's reign over Earth, he and the Enchantress bore a son Magni. During his infancy Magni was used as a pawn in Balder's attempt to overthrow Thor's rule in New Asgard.
While there is no character named "Love" raised by Thor in Marvel Comics, Thor does, in fact, have a daughter in an alternate reality with Lady Sif, though this child is named Torunn Thorsdóttir. Interestingly, Torunn translates to "Thor's love," so the name in Love & Thunder does have a connection to Marvel Comics.
History. Torunn's Sword is an enchanted Asgardian sword made of uru, similar to Mjolnir. Its owner is Torunn, Thor's daughter. Like Mjolnir, it can only be picked up if the person(s) is deemed worthy, generate lightning, and can be thrown and called back by will.
Powers and Abilities
As Thor's firstborn and strongest child, Magni was a very powerful Aesir, with only his grandfather Odin, father Thor, uncles Týr, Heimdall and Baldur surpassing him.
Both Jane and Thor started to withdraw from each other, they both were experiencing the loss of their relationship. It was a mutual breakup because they both left each other, yet the love still remained. Often heartbreak can lead someone to harden their hearts to love.
However, the film also implies that the hammer only sees Jane as worthy because Thor unintentionally revised the rules of Mjölnir, giving it the power to protect her. Captain America didn't need anything special for the hammer to see him as worthy – he's able to wield it without issue in Avengers: Endgame.
It makes sense that Jane would then fall in love with him, even if she didn't have her memories of Thor at the time. He and Jane went on to marry, have a son, and then divorce. Thor and Sif attended their wedding.
