Spirits are the most likely alcohol type to illicit feelings of aggression, while red wine most likely to make people relaxed, a new study shows.
One third of people said that drinking spirits made them feel angry, or susceptible to aggressive urges. While women tended to experience stronger emotional responses to the different types of alcohol, men were more likely to feel aggressive after drinking than women — particularly men that drank heavily.
The world's most dangerous alcoholic drinks include Absinthe, Bacardi 151, Changaa, Everclear, Death in the Afternoon, Four Lokos, Jungle Juice, Knockeen Hills, Moonshine, and Spirytus Rektyfikowany. Commonly referred to as the “green fairy,” absinthe was banned in the U.S. from 1915 to 2007.
Experts believe the reason some people become aggressive when drunk is due to the way alcohol affects the brain. Binge drinking increases the likelihood of both becoming aggressive or angry and also being on the receiving end of someone else's temper.
"Drinks with higher alcohol content are more likely to increase your blood alcohol levels more rapidly, for example sherry will increase it more rapidly than beer," she said. "Absinthe, rum and vodka have a higher alcohol content than most other alcoholic beverages, ranging from approximately 36-95 percent in strength.
There is no alcohol difference between Vodka and Tequila. Both spirits contain ethanol that is 80 to 100 proof, meaning 40 to 50% ABV.
The concentrated ethanol in vodka (when taken as a shot) can cause a sudden and rapid increase in blood alcohol level, resulting in a short-term euphoria and increased social drive.
Tequila, cognac, and whiskey are drinks high in congeners. Bourbon whiskey has a substantial amount of congeners, more than most other alcoholic drinks. Drinking alcoholic drinks high in congeners can give you an intense hangover.
Myth 3: Drinking hard liquor is worse than drinking beer or wine. Contrary to popular belief, the type of alcohol you drink doesn't make a difference – what matters is how much you drink. Reduced inhibitions and impulse control
Alcohol reduces your inhibitions and your ability to control your impulses. This means that when you've had a drink, you can find it more difficult to resist the urge to act angrily, with little thought for the consequences.
Nearly a third of spirit drinkers reported feeling aggressive when they imbibe—more than 20 percent higher than the findings beer, red wine, or white wine. "For centuries, the history of rum, gin, vodka, and other spirits has been laced with violence," says Professor Mark Bellis who co-authored the study.

Most people become drunk after drinking two shots of vodka (1.5 ounces). To reach a BAC of 0.08%, which is the legal limit, it usually takes around five shots for an average-sized man and three-to-four shots for an average-sized woman.
Alcohol can be a dangerous poison for children. Alcohol depresses the central nervous system and causes low blood glucose (sugar). Children who drink alcohol can have seizures and coma; they could even die.
Pure tequila, as opposed to normal mixed tequilas, do not have as many congeners or sugars. Thus, minimal hangovers.
The best part is when you get drunk with vodka; you feel less horrible and hungover the next day than other spirits because of the lack of admixtures in it. While other spirits are just distilled once or twice with different aromatics, this is what makes them taste stronger and make you feel worse the next morning.

Alcohol intolerance is a genetic, metabolic disorder of the digestive system. Your body doesn't process alcohol the way it should. Alcohol allergy is an immune system response — your immune system overreacts to an ingredient in alcohol.
You are less likely to feel intense effects if you are completely rested. Eat a full meal before drinking. Drinking on an empty stomach can lead to more side effects and can cause the feeling of being drunk to last longer.
Speed of consumption – A person who drinks rapidly or gulps drinks becomes intoxicated faster than a person who sips or drinks slowly because they ingest a larger amount of alcohol over the same period.
