According to our experts, the general consensus is leave-in conditioner. "After washing, apply leave-in conditioner as a base to protect your hair from environmental damage and heat styling," Lliguin says.
For the best results, the AAD recommends using an ointment or a cream to relieve dry skin - rather than a lotion - because “ointments and creams are more effective and less irritating than lotions.” To keep your body moisturised, thick ointments are the most effective option as they're oil-based.
Use a Nourishing Hair Serum
Your moisturizing hair routine should go beyond the shower. After you've stepped out of the shower and your shampoo and conditioner (and deep conditioner) have done their job to fight dryness, it's time to turn to a hair serum for help.
So use a rich, rinse-out conditioner after every shower, and follow it up with a moisturizing leave-in spray before styling. Once a week, apply a deep conditioning mask. Allow it to penetrate for five to 15 minutes for a silky, smooth result.

Now that you have taken a hearty shower, the next step is to dry your body without losing moisture. This doesn't mean that you rub yourself with a towel, as the action can cause irritation and itchiness. Instead, pat yourself dry leaving your skin a little damp.
People with oily hair or who use hair care products daily should consider washing their hair once every 1–2 days. People with dry hair can wash their hair less frequently. Those with textured or coily hair should only wash it once every 1–2 weeks.
Many doctors say a daily shower is fine for most people. (More than that could start to cause skin problems.) But for many people, two to three times a week is enough and may be even better to maintain good health.
To help control frizzy hair after washing it, first avoid any hair products that contain alcohol. The best ingredients for frizzy hair are nourishing oils like argan oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil.
Hair that's wet and filled with moisture is more fragile than hair that's dry, which can result in snapping when brushed. Mix a leave-in conditioner , castor oil (emollient), and water in a spray bottle and spritz it onto your hair daily to keep your locks hydrated. Give a hot oil treatment to your tresses (coconut and olive oils are good choices) 20 minutes before washing them to provide an extra moisture boost.
